Eat and grow
A joystick that follows your thumb. Every orb is length, and length wins.
Cut bigger snakes off, outrun the storm and race real players' ghost runs in an offline snake game for Android. Free to start. One purchase unlocks everything. No ads.
HyperSnake is a free snake game for Android phones and tablets by HyperHollowGames, built to play offline against AI snakes and ghost runs of real players. Here is a whole run, each shot in a different style.
A joystick that follows your thumb. Every orb is length, and length wins.
Cross a bigger snake head-first. It crashes into you and drops its whole length.
Pick a power each level: Hoover, Speed, the Blast Ring or the Shield. Eat enough and the Food Tornado pulls every orb to you.
Kills fill the mana meter. Raid the garden heist for the key, then face the realm's boss snake.
Each realm's boss wears a style and guards it for the whole fight. Beat it and the style is yours: it repaints your snake head to tail, gives it its own trail and reskins your ring.
+ Gilded, Void and Venom after your first lap
The boss regrows
Rubble rains on the quarry
Rime slows you down
Flares burn your tail
Arcs jump the storm hall
The boss blinks across the floor
Or design your own snake in the Snake Designer. Weekly Snake Royale events add skins you can only win: finish in the top 3 three times that week and the event skin is yours for good.
What PLAY starts
Twenty snakes and a zone that closes in every 30 seconds. Outside it the storm eats your tail; the last snake left wins. About three minutes, one free round a day.
11 AI snakes and walls that bounce you back instead of ending the run. Learn to steer, boost and snare.
22 aggressive snakes, deadly walls and pillars. Watch the space ahead before every turn.
Two minutes on the Hard board, scored on length plus snares, with its own leaderboard. A full run at the bus stop.
The biggest snake games on Google Play, side by side, on what their own store listings say. HyperSnake is built to play alone and offline, with no ads and no data shared.

If HyperSnake had come out in 1998, it would have sat on the shelf in a big cardboard box. It came out now instead, so it fits in your pocket.
Yes. Install it free from Google Play, or play the browser version on itch.io. There are no ads at all: no banners, no video breaks between rounds and no ad to watch for a second chance. The arena, Blitz, the first realm and one round of Snake Royale a day are free, with no currency and no energy timer. One optional purchase, Unlock everything, opens every realm, all nine styles, every skin, the Snake Designer, and unlimited Snake Royale; Google Play Pass members get it included.
Yes. HyperSnake is one word, but plenty of people search for it as Hyper Snake, and it is the same game. On Google Play it was called HyperSnake: Snake Arena until October 2026 and is now HyperSnake: Offline Snake Game, made by HyperHollowGames. It is not the 2012 iPhone game Hyper Snake, which is an unrelated tilt-controlled classic snake.
Like slither.io, you grow by eating and win by making rivals crash into your body. HyperSnake is built for playing alone and offline instead: Snake Royale in a closing zone against AI snakes and ghost runs of real players, levels with upgrades to pick, a Food Tornado, boss snakes guarding walled gardens, and styles you earn by beating them. It has no ads.
Yes. Snake Royale, Solo and Blitz all work fully offline, so it is fine on a plane or the subway. A connection is only used to send your leaderboard scores and swap ghost runs with other players when you are back online; a round started offline races the last ghost runs the game saw.
Snake Royale is HyperSnake's battle royale and the mode PLAY starts once a new player has had three runs on the open field: twenty snakes in one arena, with a zone that closes in every 30 seconds. Outside it the storm eats your tail, and the last snake left wins. A round takes about three minutes. Every week runs an event with its own twist, such as double food, giant snakes, no boost or a fast zone; finish in the top 3 three times that week and its skin is yours for good. Event skins are never sold.
Make them run into you. When a rival's head hits your body it crashes and drops its whole length as food. Head-on, the longer snake wins, so cut across the path of bigger snakes rather than meeting them face to face.
Boost trades length for speed. Once your snake has 12 segments you can hold boost to move at double speed, and it slowly sheds tail segments that drop behind you as food. Anyone can pick that food up, including the snake chasing you.
Snakes you put down drop mana. Fill the meter and a portal opens onto a garden heist: fill the fountain, find four golden seeds in the hedge maze, carry the lantern into the glade, catch its three fireflies and grab the key from the vault while three guardians hunt you. The key opens the realm's boss, which circles, aims and charges. It only takes damage when a charge lands on your body, and every hit bites your snake off where it struck, so offer your tail, never your neck. Each of the six realms guards a style (On Fire, Freezing, Jungle, Stone, Thunder, Neon Party) that is yours once you beat its boss, and repaints your snake, its trail and its ring. Three more styles, Gilded, Void and Venom, come after your first lap of the realms.
Not live multiplayer, so you never wait for a lobby and it still plays offline. Snake Royale does race real players: up to five of the nineteen rivals in a round are ghost runs, replays of other players' recorded rounds with a gamer tag and a country flag, and AI snakes fill the rest. You also compete through the Google Play Games leaderboards for high score and Blitz.
Android 7.0 or newer, on a phone or a tablet. Once it is installed, Snake Royale, Solo and Blitz all play offline.
No. The browser version on itch.io keeps its save in that browser, and the Android game keeps its own save on your phone, so the Android game starts fresh. The browser version is the free part of the game; the full game is on Google Play.
HyperSnake is rated PEGI 3 in Europe, Everyone in the US and USK all ages in Germany. There is no chat and no account to make; signing in to Google Play Games for the leaderboards is optional. A ghost run shows only a made-up gamer tag such as Viper 482 and a country flag, never a real name. The one purchase is optional.
HyperSnake is built for Android phones and tablets, with Google Play Games leaderboards and achievements. On a desktop computer you can play it in the browser on itch.io. The game is available in English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Greek, Indonesian, Japanese and Hindi.
Controls, boosting, snaring, upgrades and the bosses, in one beginner's guide. The tips from people who kept dying are in there too.
